Why did I choose to become a Cat Psychologist, one might ask. Cats just do their own thing, never mind figuring out what they think. Times have changed however and there have over the years scientific studies done into feline behaviour and how their little worlds influence their actions and thought processes. This is where I come in, I act as a bridge between the you and your cat. I modify the cat's surroundings and to adapt to make for a happier household.
Over the past hundred and twenty years or so how we view cats has changed dramatically from using them to hunt pests such as rats and mice to be permanent fixtures in our homes. This has led to a dramatic change in their behaviour. Since cities have grown exponentially through more and more folk leaving the countryside in search of better opportunities, they have taken their pets with them. This has led to a change in cats' behaviour as they adapt to their changing environment, mostly for the better but sometimes for the worse. This change has led to dramatically reduced territories and hunting grounds for the cat.
Cats are very adaptable to changing environments and for the most part they have taken the changes in their stead but sometimes their environment has a negative impact in their psychology. Behaviours such as inappropriate urination, aggression and anxiety all have roots in their surroundings, whether it is another cat, dog or person or even access to food, water and sleeping sleeping spaces all have a marked impact on your cat.
